Photographs, home video, letters and papers, kept by one family in one place. The wall behind this pane is the archive. It stays blurred until someone who knows you lets you in.
What is kept here
This archive holds what the family has managed to hold on to: boxes of prints, a few reels that have been transferred, birth and marriage records, and the photographs everyone keeps meaning to send round and never does.
It is private because the people in it did not choose to be on the internet. Nothing here is indexed, and nothing opens without a password an admin has handed out. The front page shows blurred shapes and no more.
It is also unfinished. Plenty of photographs have no date, no place and nobody named. If you recognise a face in one, say so, and it gets written down before it is lost.
The paragraphs above are a stand-in. Whoever writes for the family should replace them with the real account: who started the collection, what the oldest thing in it is, and who to ask about the gaps.
